Allergy Hives

Dear Friend, What do allergies and hives have in common? If you suffer from allergy hives, you already have the answer to this. Those nasty itchy, red bumps, that swell are the result of an allergy that you suffer. Hives can develop on any part of the body or on any one part. Urticaria is the medical name for hives.

Allergy hives occur when you are exposed to something you are allergic to causing histamine to be released. This causes liquid to leak from the blood vessels that are located under the skin. The fluid pools together where it collects causing the bumps we refer to as hives.

Most people automatically assume that if they suffer from hives it’s because of something they ate but it’s not necessarily that way. It can be a medication you are taking, from an insect bite, from something you inhaled, or of course from foods. And when it comes to allergy, hives you may have eaten the food all your life and then one day you wake up and you’ve got allergy hives.

If you suffer from allergy hives, you can take antihistamine such as Benadryl and stop eating or taking whatever it is that causes your hives. You can also apply an anti itch cream such as hydrochlorizide. Atarax is a prescription medication that is sometimes used.

If you’ve never suffered from allergy hives, you don’t realize just how annoying these pesky little bumps can be. In fact, the itching is enough to drive you crazy, which is why you’ll want to use some of the recommended treatments and if your hives are extremely bad you should see a doctor so that they can give you the treatment that will provide the best results.
